The Plug and the Box

Two shapes, one piece of software. Both keep your photos on a disk in your home.

Niji Plug

A small computer running Niji. Plug a disk into it and it stores your family's encrypted photos there.

Niji Box

A Plug with a hard disk inside it. Slightly different device, same software.

Built to be left alone

It updates itself.

The Plug updates itself over the internet, and undoes an update that goes wrong.

Resetting it leaves your photos alone.

Nothing you can do to the Plug will erase a photo. Reset touches the device's credentials; your photos are on the disk, and the two are physically separated.

No buttons.

There is no button on the device โ€” not even a reset. If it loses its network, Bluetooth returns on its own so your phone can fix it.

Or a computer you already have

Niji also runs on Windows and Mac computers. Those apps exist but are not yet installable by the public โ€” until there is a download, this is a plan.

A laptop sleeps, and while it sleeps its photos cannot be reached. If you want your photos available all the time, that is what the Plug is for.

The Plug and the Box are not for sale, and there is nothing to order yet.
